This quiet and peaceful hacienda retreat can be found nestling among the olive groves of Tijola, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada just three kilometres from the market town of Orgiva. Here you can enjoy a slice of real al fresco living in Spain, off the tourist track, set amongst the orange, lemon, olive, palm and jacaranda trees, surrounded by spectacular scenery.

Description:

Made famous in the early 1900's by Gerald Brennan with his book "South from Granada" and more recently described by Chris Stewart in his best selling book "Driving Over Lemons" and his sequel “Parrot in a Pepper Tree”, this rural area offers peace and tranquillity with easy access to bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

Just one hour south of Granada and 1 hour and 40 minutes east of Malaga, with the coast and golf only 35 minutes away and skiing in the winter, just 1 hour 15 minutes away, the hacienda has been designed with the 16th century Alhambra Palace in mind, but with all the luxuries and comforts of the 21st century.

The hacienda boasts a 10 metre x 5 metre private pool that reflects the style of the villa. Relaxing by the pool amongst the olive groves with the superb mountain vistas, you will occasionally hear the sound of goats’ bells in the distance and see horses trotting past.

The garden area has a number of facilities including: Several outside dining areas set with tables and chairs. Sun loungers, BBQ's, table tennis, badminton and boules/petanque.

The total sleeping capacity is 11. The hacienda comprises a villa sleeping 5 and an apartment that sleeps 2, 4 or 6 people with either 1 or 2 bathrooms available. It may be rented completely or in part. Each part of the hacienda maintains its own privacy.

The VILLA (Sleeps 5)

2 double bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. Both with ceiling fans, air-conditioning, central heating, large fitted wardrobes and luxury bed linen. Fabulous views from every window. Each bedroom has a TV point and aerial. There is space for an extra bed in either of the bedrooms, that can be made available if required.

1 Bathroom: beautifully tiled with luxury fitted spa shower, heated towel rail and radiator. Spectacular views.

1 Kitchen: Fully fitted, modern and very well equipped, with large fridge/freezer, split level electric oven with eye level grill, gas and electric hob, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen window overlooks the Moorish courtyard.

Living Room: Comfortably furnished. Ceiling fan, SKY TV, DVD, a library of DVD's to watch, wood burning stove and radiator. Enjoy the dramatic views of the Contraviesa mountains from the living room and terrace.

Outside Area: There are various outside dining and relaxing areas to choose from, including a Moroccan arched veranda and an open aspect dining room. BBQ facilities.

1 Kitchen fully fitted and very well equipped (partly open plan) with large fridge/freezer, washing machine, electric cooker, hob and microwave.

Outside Area has a large private balcony terrace with splendid mountain views and is a delightful place to enjoy a BBQ, as well as a private area of garden around the pool and a covered open dining area.

All rooms have ceiling fans, air-conditioning and central heating. There is also internet connection by wifi, a washing machine and a cot is available for babies.

This beautiful property has had write ups in various magazines including the following: A Place in the Sun quote "Arabian arches and mosaics echo the style of the Alhambra". and Spanish Homes Magazine featured the property in their Interiors section and titled the write up 'The Moorish Adventure' they said "Mirrors carved and gilded camel bone reflect Moroccan lamps and rugs glowing in the jewel shades, painted cedar shelves and inlaid tables."

1. Animals are not permitted

2. Smoking is prohibited inside the buildings however it is permitted in the grounds and in the terraces, patios etc

3. A deposit is required for damages to furniture and decorations of value. This will be refunded at the end of your visit

4. The area is one of peace and tranquillity and visitors are respectfully asked to maintain that during their stay

5. A 40% non refundable deposit will be required upon reservation, the balance will need to be paid 4 weeks before the date of arrival.
